I called Grandma F last night and we chatted for half an hour. I asked her to tell me stories of when she was younger and she told me about the first time she went out with Grandpa. She told me they had almost 57 years together; some good and some bad. I asked if the positive effects of the good outweighed the negative effects of the bad and she said yes. Very cool conversation.

So I'll see your boot camp, and match you with 16 miles worth of bike ride and 20 minutes of tri and back work at the gym. Dare you to take it up another notch tomorrow :)

Two quotes I've often heard come to mind:

Miserable people make other people miserable.

Don't let someone else's problems become your problems.

Margi,

Sorry to hear about the Volvo and your adventure. There is lots to do in Pagosa while your there. Make sure to go to the hot springs and there is also lots of snowshoeing to be had.

Keep us posted on events as the unfold.

Isn't it funny (not ha ha funny, more like ironic) that we are surprised when we eat better and feel better and are even more surprised when we eat crappy and feel crappy? I've been eating correctly since the end of November, nothing as drastic as the elim diet, but more fruits, more veggies, and almost nothing fried. I've lost about 18 pounds and feel so much better. Don't get me wrong, once in a while I eat something totally bad for me and sometimes I enjoy it and sometimes I absolutely don't. I was so happy one day when I went to eat french fries and fried chicken and it tasted nasty and I couldn't finish!! I think your 80-20 sounds like a good idea. I think it's all about moderation and being realistic. I know it's so easy to slip back into "crappy eating" since it's basically easier, but I'm trying my best to avoid that and so far, so good. So, good luck with round 2!
